Of all the exhibitions about the Queen – regarding any aspect of her life – this is the one that was always going to resonate the most for me. I first encountered her through my fascination with her clothes as a child, and that’s what got me interested in her as a person: her life, her job, her taste, the complexity of being so much in the public eye, and how she used imagery more than words to let us know how she wanted to be understood.
